    Honorary Consul-General of Austria

    Mrs. Hussain was appointed Honorary Consul of Austria in Victoria in March 2022.

    The provision of consular services at the Consulate in St. Kilda, as well as maintaining close contacts with the community of Austrian expatriates in Victoria, are the focus of Eva Hussain's work.

    Moreover, she will support the team at the Austrian Embassy with establishing stakeholder contacts in the areas of trade & investment, politics, arts and culture.

    The promotion of Austrian businesses after the Covid-19 pandemic is of particular importance in this context.

    Another priority in Victoria is the implementation of the Austria-Australia Arrangement of Strategic Cooperation which was concluded in September 2021, including bringing together stakeholders from both countries in the areas of trade and investment as well as research & development.

  • Heidi Victoria - Honorary Vice Consul of Austria

    Honorary Vice Consul of Austria

    Heidi is proud to serve as the Honorary Vice-Consul for Austria in Victoria.

    Her father was born in Steyr, and Heidi holds dual citizenship.

    Heidi's love of community service started over 40 years ago, and she has given her time to multiple worthwhile causes, including arts, environmental, disability, children's, women's and community organisations, and served on multiple not-for-profit and government boards.

    Heidi has an incredibly broad work background, including as a Member of Parliament (12 years), State Minister, non-executive director, media commentator and professional photographer - in which she is university qualified.

    In her spare time, Heidi loves to cook, experience the arts, travel, spend quality moments with family and friends, and learn new languages.

    Along with her role on the National Portrait Gallery board, Heidi is on several committees and is passionate about making a positive contribution to future collaborations between Australia and Austria.

  • Eva-Maria Heikenwalder - Consular Officer

    Eva-Maria has been an active member of the Austrian community in Melbourne.  

    Born in Austria, Eva-Maria has lived and worked in Europe and North America until she settled in Melbourne in 2013.

    As president of the Austrians in Melbourne Cultural Association, Eva-Maria has been organising the longest recurring 'Stammtisch' in Australia, a Viennese gala ball and supported countless members of the community to settle and find their footing in Melbourne.

    Eva-Maria is also a Board Member of European Business with the goal to connect Australian and European businesses and manages a private nutritional therapy clinic. 

    In her spare time Eva-Maria enjoys her vegetable garden, nature walks in country Victoria and Melbourne’s arts and culture scene.

    Eva-Maria is beyond excited to support Austrian businesses and individuals in Victoria at the Austrian Consulate in Melbourne.
